Foxhall Heath Stadium, Ipswich – Saturday 17th November 2018

Meeting Preview

This coming Saturday night Spedeworth Motorsports proudly presents another jewel in its crown, the 2018 Bangers Championship of the World!

It’s that time again where once more Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich, closes off on another 57th incredible season of racing and hosts another ‘biggie’ for Bangers. Whether you are a casual race fan or a “die hard” Banger fan, this is one meeting you simply cannot miss. The pits will be full to bursting with, at time of press some 253 Bangers with drivers from East Anglia to Cornwall, the South Coast to Cumbria and everywhere in between, with drivers even travelling from as far as Scotland, Ireland and Mainland Europe just to be part of this fantastic evening.

For many drivers, all the time and effort that they have put in just to qualify for this year’s race, is the reward they have been after. A huge grid of Bangers will line up for the biggest and most rewarding Banger race anywhere just to get a shot at becoming the champion of the world, and be able to parade the coveted gold roof on their car for the coming twelve months! In addition to the World Final itself we also have races at the start of the meeting, a last chance saloon for any driver who hasn’t qualified as yet, to get themselves into the big race! These are winner takes all events, with the winner of each race taking their place at the back of the World Final grid.

Ashley Wallace is defending Champion and has been a great ambassador for the sport and stands as good a chance as any to defend his title but will no doubt be a marked man come the opening laps of the big race.

Local hopes will rest with Kesgrave’s Julian Beaumont with Woodbridge Brothers, Craig and Nathan Thurlow with Jake Stewart, whilst Saxmundhams Nikki Jarvis and Gareth Parker are also very strong local contenders.
After a new World Champion has been crowned there will be even more entertainment as Radio Suffolk presenters, James Hazel and Isaac Chenery will take to the track in a 10 lap Banger Challenge between themselves to raise money for BBC Children in Need. Staff from the BBC will also be on hand plus a very special Guest Appearance from Pudsey Bear, so if you haven’t made your Donations yet, please dig deep Race Fans and give what you can for this amazing cause and you WILL make a difference to a child’s life.
Following this will be the Allcomers races, where there is nothing to play for, but pride, and the drivers can simply enjoy wrecking their cars!

Don’t forget, please also visit the ‘Dave’s Graphics and Chris Berry Photography’ Trackshop Superstore, where you can purchase your Full Colour Programmes and brand new edition of Wheelspin Magazine, Spedeworth / Incarace Merchandise and the amazing all action photos from Chris Berry, - There’s lots of Christmas Stocking Fillers to be found!

Foxhall race meeting DVD’s can be purchased from the Martin Hunt DVD Shop adjacent to the Turnstiles, the 2018 National Unlimited Bangers World Final DVD will be on sale for those seeking Christmas Gift ideas.

Racing starts at the earlier time of 5.00pm and turnstiles will open at 3.30pm. If you haven’t been to our Foxhall Heath Stadium before then this meeting is well worth a trip not just for the racing but to see the superb facilities which are now available. We have two fully seated grandstands along the back straight which can hold several thousand people and offer excellent elevated views of the racing. Wherever you choose to sit in the grandstands you can see all the action around the Ipswich raceway. We have a grandstand for those who are disabled or have special needs on the Kent Cams bend and our renowned catering facilities, which offer some of the best Stadium food in the country, are accredited with a five star Hygiene Rating. We also have elevated VIP Hospitality units which include a VIP box and balcony which provide uninterrupted views of the racing. We often have one or two units for hire for at meetings for Corporate, Group and Children’s Birthdays, contact us on 07947 509390 for more details if you wish to hire one of these great facilities. We also have toilet blocks including baby changing and disabled facilities.

A Saturday night at Foxhall is ‘The’ place to be with the family, see the race action under floodlights whilst you soak up the atmosphere under our blue neon terracing lights – give the takeaway a miss, set the TV to record, enjoy one of ‘Fraser’s Specials from the Diner’ and let Spedeworth/Incarace Motorsports give you a spectacular night of racing action and facilities at Foxhall Stadium!
If you enjoy your racing with us, why not treat a Friend to a night at the racing with one of our Experience Vouchers as a perfect Gift for that special occasion. Contact us on 01252 322920 for more details.

We would like to thank all our Drivers and many Fans for supporting Foxhall Stadium in its 57th consecutive season of racing and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year – we hope to see you all back on Saturday February 23rd for the Annual open practice night with FREE ADMISSION and then racing resumes on Saturday 9th March at Foxhall with a ‘Barnstorming’ season opener of Superstox, 2.0Ltr Hot Rods and National Bangers to open our 58th consecutive season of Oval action at Foxhall Heath Raceway!
