What a unique and all-action event we are in for this Sunday at Aldershot Raceway, with the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars finally taking to the venue - a first in the sport’s illustrious history. This is the only chance you’ll ever have to see the first meeting, you don’t want to miss it! Why? Let us tell you…
Where do we start? Let’s go back to basics: BriSCA F1 Stock Cars quite literally make the ground shake, thanks to their thunderous V8 engines and huge steel bumpers which are there to be used - with the higher grade drivers starting at the rear of the grid and having to push competitors aside to reach the chequered flag in first place. Drivers race across different tracks, and have created incredible memories at fellow Incarace/Spedeworth venues such as Northampton (Brafield), Hednesford Hills and Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich over the past few years. Now it’s time to head south - and to the Rushmoor tarmac!
Race fans are in for a treat as these big cars blast their way around the tight oval: watch out for cars avoiding the ‘Aldershot blue’ steel plate safety fence in what is set to be a busy day of on-track racing. Big names of the sport - such as #16 Matt Newson, #515 Frankie Wainman and #259 Paul Hines feature on the booking list, but standby for plenty of action as a full field of drivers get used to the challenge of a brand new track on the calendar.
Of course, BriSCA and Spedeworth have historically differed, but this weekend sees the formula head to the town which was the location of the old HQ venue - a legacy which continues into 2024 with the track and Spedeworth/Incarace Head Office proudly being a big part of the town.
Racing also comes from the National Hot Rods as the 2023/24 World Qualifying season enters its final round in the English League. The fastest formula on the ovals are just weeks away from their 2024 Championship of the World at Suffolk’s Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich, as part of the annual Spedeweekend. Drivers have been racing across the country in this highly competitive class since the summer 2023 and we really are at the business end of proceedings this Sunday!??Completing the lineup are the National Ministox: the formula which need no introduction if you have ever seen them in action. These youngsters may go on to race in BriSCA F1 Stock Cars or National Hot Rods in the future, but right now they are not to be missed with bumperwork throughout the field - sometimes even out performing the adults when it comes to on the edge of your seat action and thrill-packed moments. National Champion #425 Boden Murfin heads the lineup alongside a great entry of drivers - some of who are the newest generation of Stock Car families taking to the track!
So, standby for an afternoon filled with thrill-packed action as drivers from far and wide descend on the Hampshire venue. Whether you're a die-hard motorsport fan or simply seeking an exhilarating experience for the whole family, this is a special event you won't want to miss...
