In association with BriSCA F2 Offical Grader David Hamar, the following criteria has been used to decide who qualifies for the big race on Sunday.
The line-up for the Formula 2 European Championship will consist of the top 20 National points scorers as at the date of compilation of the July grading list who had booked to race before the deadline date as outlined in the formal invitation that was sent out. From the remaining drivers, the top six points scorers from Saturday evening’s racing, together with the top points scoring drivers from N. Ireland and mainland Europe will join them giving a grid of 36 cars. There will be ten overseas drivers seeded directly to the championship race – six from mainland Europe and four from N. Ireland, the six/four split being an equal proportion of the total number booked to race from each location.
Should the defending European champion, 7 Gordon Moodie, fail to finish among the top six points scorers from Saturday’s racing, he will be entitled to a place in the race but will start from the back of the grid.
