Its less than three months now until one of the best events of the year takes place at Hednesford Hills Raceway, the Bill Morris Annual Veterans Day. A day not just about racing, of which there is plenty of, but a day to catch up with old friends.
To hopefully clarify who is eligible for the event this is not open to just Incarace drivers, we welcome drivers from all Tracks & Promotions.
Drivers age 45 plus can compete but to encourage more cars on track any driver who is age 40 to 45 but not fully active, i.e. 3 or 4 meetings a year, would be eligible. If you’re not sure please call Paul Gerrard on 07736 805537 to clarify.
Many of our veteran drivers who like to race something a bit older have requested an “Older Car” race again. To cater for this the heats will be split to allow this and then all cars will compete together in the final.
The Warriors are celebrating 30 years along with Phil Rogers' 60th and 25 years of racing for Lee Clelland. So far they have a Granada limo, a hearse and 3 Rolls Royce Silver Shadows. Andy Girling is bringing an Austin 3 Litre and The Saints have a Mk 10 Jag, an XJS and a Volvo limo amongst others along with old and new Jags and Granadas from many other drivers
Along with the Veterans, we will also be running a 'Back to Basics' Banger formula on the day and the Classic Hot Rods will be competing for the coveted 'Bill Morris Memorial' Trophy.
We are taking bookings for all formulas now, so let us know what cars are being built so we can start to build a good entry list.
The Ford RS Rallye Sport guys will again be joining us for a bit of nostalgia with a fine display of car on the Hednesford banking.
If you have any queries or require any further information, you can always ring Ken Gibbs who has tirelessly organised this event from its earlier days - Ken's number is 07885 200 834.
