Spedeworth / Incarace would like to thank everyone for making the 2016 Spedeweekend a huge success.

The weather did its best on Saturday to try and dampen our spirits but the determination of everyone involved and the skill of the drivers showed how fantastic short oval racing can be and fortunately the sun shined throughout the Sunday to allow a superb afternoons racing action.

We would like to thank all of the sponsors who supported the 2016 Spedeweekend and hope they enjoyed the experience with us over the two days.

Thank you to all you race fans who came to support your favourite drivers over the two day spectacular. From the advanced ticket sales calls to the smiling faces that greeted us at the turnstiles over the weekend, the amount of race fans who travel from far and wide to visit our Foxhall Heath Stadium, Ipswich your commitment to our sport is fantastic to see and we would like to thank each and every one of you for filling the stadium with happy faces and joining in the fun as the weekend flew by and we can’t wait to see everyone again in the near future.

A Spedeweekend would not be a Spedeweekend without the drivers. No drivers = no racing and that would never do for the first weekend in July at Foxhall Heath Stadium. Over 450 drivers raced at this year’s Spedeweekend and if you had time to walk around the pits it truly is a sight to see with so many different formulas and drivers all looking forward to the prospect of lifting a trophy at the end of the weekend. Just like the race fans we appreciate that some drivers travel long distances to join us and whether you travelled from overseas or five minutes down the road, we cannot thank you enough for putting on a superb show over all the races and you all proved that come rain or shine that short oval motor racing is one of the best sports in the world! Fantastic racing from all formulas……Thank You.

There are so many people involved in the planning and organising the 2016 Spedeweekend behind the scenes and within the public eye and it would be impossible to name them all. That been said we would like to say thank you to each and every one of you. Thank you to all the staff who make the Spedeweekend happen on and off the race track at the stadium and to the staff who look after the Suffolk Showground campsite who commit their whole weekend to helping Spedeworth / Incarace run the Spedeweekend and never see a race! Thank you to all the race officials, NHRPA officials, presenters, catering staff, security, trophy girls + Timmy The Tyre, turnstile and car parking staff as well as the Medical Teams and Business Clean who keep the stadium looking sparkling with litter picking and toilet cleaning for all your hard work in making the weekend run so smoothly and produce such an excellent show on our behalf.

Congratulations must be said to all of our race and championship winners over the weekend and of course to the three World Final winners with National Hot Rod #76 Adam Maxwell on winning the 2016 National Hot Rod World Championship on Sunday afternoon, Lightning Rod #974 Gary Beggs on winning the Lightning Rod World Championship and 2.0 Hot Rod #565 Dan Smith on winning the 2.0 Hot Rod World Championship on Saturday night.
