Wow, this event just keeps getting better and better doesn’t it? The third running of the revamped Crash Cavalcade was an incredible affair which had the pits, banking and even the car park brimming with some awesome classic machinery. The gates opened bright and early on the Sunday to a rather chilly morning with classic cars rolling in throughout under the sunshine. We saw everything from a 1950’s truck to an AC Cobra replica in the Classic Car Show and even more variety being raced to destruction in the three classes of Pre-85 National Bangers that were featured.
The day also saw cars such as Mk1 & Mk2 Escorts, Anglias, a Hillman Avenger, Austin A30 and A40 and more racing in the Classic Hot Rods. These stunning machines put on a brilliant show as always, showing what Hot Rod racing was like in the 1960’s and 70’s. We also got to see some brand new Classic Hot Rod drivers, including #164 Simon Wood who only completed his licencing runs on Wednesday 21st September.
Sadly, we didn't manage to get any lap times for the Classic Hot Rods as our computer used for the timing chose the very start of race one to update to Windows 10. However, we can say that despite the inclement weather, they were quick!
It was fantastic to see many new faces at Hednesford Hills Raceway for this very special meeting, and we hope to see many of you back at next year’s Crash Cavalcade where talks have already begun as to how we can make it even better still. Of course, we would love to hear your feedback, so if you have any suggestions as to how we can improve this increasing spectacular meeting, please contact us at info@incarace.co.uk.
Did we mention that the National Banger Final Winners automatically qualified for the Unlimited National Banger Champion of Champions meeting at Birmingham Wheels Raceway on Saturday 26th November. #130 Dan Cooke from the Unders class has already accepted his invitation.
There was action on track all day long from the classics and all of the invited classes who we can’t thank enough for getting behind the event and making the effort with classic cars, backup teams, on track entertainment and participation in the classic car show & parade. I’m sure everyone will agree that you guys put on one hell of a show.
