Incarace Motorsport are very pleased to announce two very special National Banger meetings that are currently being arranged to celebrate the success of the Ford Motor Company at our race tracks.

The Ford Fiesta has now been in production for 40 years and the Ford Escort will reach the unbelievable milestone of 50 years in 2018, so we are masterminding two one off race meetings and we wanted to make all drivers and spectators well aware with plenty of notice.

The ‘FORD FIESTA FUN DAY’, will be run in 2017 in a Ford Fiesta only National Banger meeting which will be run to Back to Basics rules with a maximum of 1400cc engines and in 2018 we will be running a FORD ESCORT ONLY meeting (engine size to be agreed nearer the date). The venue will be Hednesford Hills Raceway and the emphasis of the day will be on entertainment rather than just winning – we want everyone to enjoy their day.

We have already secured a £1,000 prize fund for this event, which will have the emphasis on entertainment, so each race would have entertainment cash prizes and we are proposing that the big cash prizes will be on the Demolition Derby with a minimum of £500 for the DD winner and additional prize money for the DD Runner Up and the DD Most Destructed Car.

In addition we will also have showmanship prizes for Best Presented Car, Best Presented Team, Driver of the Day and unluckiest Driver of the Day – again all based around enjoyment and entertainment.

We have also decided that the race meetings will include other attractions based around the Ford Motor Company, holding an ‘Auto Jumble’ which would commence fairly early in the day, a Classic Car Show display where the Classic Car Clubs can bring their pride and joy and would have the opportunity of joining us on the track with a few trophies for the best presented cars as we do at the Crash Cavalcade event each year.

We will be looking for support formulas again in the same mould of the car, so initial thoughts here surround Classic Hot Rods and/or Incarods, once again depending upon how many entries we get for the Bangers.

We will of course be looking for some support from Ford Motor Company itself and having spoken to a couple of local dealers I am sure that we can be displaying the ‘up to date’ models too.

We are looking to build a Fiesta to raffle off in aid of FORDS Care – now that’s a strange coincidence!
Darren Owen has already offered to supply the car, and Ashley Law has agreed to build the car, ready to race. We now need a few more sponsors to donate all of the safety gear, eg harness etc. The car will be raffled until a week or so before the meeting and the winning person can either race the car themselves or pass it on to another driver. We are hoping that the car will be built reasonably quickly, then we can even show this at the last few meetings of this year, maybe even the Fireworks meeting at Hednesford on 6th November.

With fixtures for 2017 currently in the planning stage, the only thing we cannot confirm at this stage is the actual date for the Fiesta event and of course the same for the Escort date in 2018.
