The Banger World Series for 2017 kicks off at Wimbledon Stadium once again with what will be the last Unlimited National Banger meeting at the iconic London Venue.
This is always a great occasion to look forward to as the one of the biggest meetings of the National Banger calendar, as well as one of the biggest and best spectacles here at Wimbledon Stadium but sadly this will also be the last. As with the previous years, Round 1 will be held at the Plough Lane venue of Wimbledon Stadium, a fantastic opportunity to hear the roar of Unlimited National Bangers around the enclosed venue.
This for many is where the road to gold begins, with vital World Qualifying points on offer and of course, customary with the Banger World Series a golden ticket into the World Final race itself going to the winner of the meeting final with a Wildcard spot. However even with all this up for grabs do not expect it to be all about racing as the BWS Rounds have a habit of producing some great crashing action, especially at Wimbledon as it has the added spice of drivers being allowed to turn around and attempt to stop their opponents as they pass. The meeting is set to once again be a night not to be missed for racing fans, especially for National Banger fans, as a packed track of Unlimited cars under the floodlights battle each other around the tarmac doing their best to avoid the infamous post and rope fence which has claimed many a victim over the stadiums illustrious history.
Make sure you do not miss another chance to experience the unique atmosphere that can only be felt at Wimbledon Stadium for a night of great racing!
Racing starts at 5.30pm and don’t forget rain or shine Wimbledon Stadium is fully enclosed for spectators and offers superb views from the covered grandstands indoors or out.
We have the popular Driver photo signing again and this will take place inside the stadium after you walk through the turnstiles and will start as the turnstiles open at 4pm.
Cash Entertainer Awards throughout the evening.
Race Format:
3 Heats
Consolation
Wildcard Race
Showdown Race
The winner of the evenings Showdown race will win £500. At Wimbledon Stadium any driver who can win the World Qualifier race and double up by winning the Showdown race as the only car that crosses the line will win an impressive £1500!!
See you there!!
