Spedeworth / Incarace would like to thank all the drivers, staff and race fans who attended Hednesford Hills Raceway’s Fiesta Frenzy yesterday and made the day a superb success.
Despite mother nature reminding us that it does rain in England the weather was unable to dampen the spirits of everyone involved in making the day a success from start to finish.
The Classic Hot Rods and the Incarods supplied the non-contact action and despite the difficult track conditions especially for the Incarods following the Banger races plus the heavy rain before heat 2, both formulas demonstrated that Hednesford Hills ¼ mile banked oval is truly the place to watch the spectacle of short oval non-contact racing. For those race fans who enjoyed watching these two formulas then you do not want to miss the National Championship Weekend from the 4th-6th August!
The star attraction of the day was meant to be the ‘Back To Basic’ Fiesta Bangers and drivers you didn’t disappoint! Over 50 cars started the event and the day finished with only one car left running! After each race, the damaged cars were dragged into the pits by the breakdown crew and everyone helped each other within the spirit of the sport to get as many cars back out on track for the next race as possible. Top quality sportsmanship at its best! Rollovers, pile-ups and nearly track blockages added to the fun with everyone shaking hands once the red flags had flown at the end of each race. Many drivers painted up their cars beautifully which reminded everyone of how cars were raced back in the 90’s giving the race fans a chance to pick their favourite and cheer them on throughout the day.
Don’t forget ‘Back To Basic’ boys & girls that if you can get your car running again the ‘Back To Basic’ Bangers are racing at Northampton International Raceway this coming Sunday (30th July 2017) with a 1.30pm start time. Can you make it? Book-in via the website www.incarace.co.uk or call 01252 322920.
Thank you also to Daz Owen, Chase Car Spares, Chris Hill, Ken Gibbs and many more names behind the scenes who helped organise the event and supply cars for drivers who would never have had the opportunity to race without the support given by everyone.
So, to summarise, a great days racing from all three formulas and a big thank you to all the drivers, staff and race fans who came and added the atmosphere to a day which will be remembered by everyone involved for a long time!
Roll on next year & watch this space for news on next year’s event.
