Incarace would like to confirm that the 2018 BriSCA F1 Stock Car 2nd Semi Final will now be taking place at Birmingham Wheels Raceway rather than Northampton International Shaleway as originally fixtured.
Precedent over the years has usually seen Semi Finals split over tarmac and shale and when Incarace were allocated the Semi Final, Northampton was chosen as the preferred venue, with no consideration at the time of the track changing to shale.
With the 2018 World Final being on tarmac at Skegness, and the first Semi Final on shale at Kings Lynn, whilst there is no rule that the Semis have to be run on both surfaces, we have considered the situation and to be fair to all concerned have moved the event to the tarmac track of Birmingham Wheels. The meeting will take place on the same date, Saturday 11th August.
Whilst Birmingham isn’t everyone’s choice of venue, we will ensure an increased security presence outside and around the stadium throughout the event.
Full details of the event will be released over the next couple of days.
Stuart Smith #390 as top 2018 World Championship qualifying point scorer has the choice of which Semi Final he takes part in and the remaining drivers as per the grids have to take their place accordingly.
We await Stuart’s decision which we believe will be reasonably soon, but in the meantime the details of the Semi Final split, driver by driver can be viewed below.
