Following a sunny afternoon open practice session at Hednesford Hills Raceway at the 49th runnning of the National Championships, it was Irishamn Shane Murphy that topped the time charts n the National Hot Rods.
Shane was equal quickest in session one with John Christie but Murphy just got quicker in each session. Carl Boardley was 2nd quickest and in a late flurry of quicker times, defending National Champion Chris Haird was 3td quickest.
Micky McFall dominated the Stock Rod charts all afternoon too and will be looking to cross the finising line on Sunday 1st again like last year.
It was Micky Walker that drove his Lightning Rod to the top of the chart from two Irihmen, Ben and Gordon McKee from defending Champion Frankie Cunningham back in fourth place.
The Oval Track Legends times saw Dan Hughes at the top, just ahead of pre-race favourite and current points Chanpion, Peter Blundell.
A great 3 hour session of set-up and practice in sunny conditions - lets hope te remainder of the Championship weekend remains the same.
Racing starts at 1pm on Saturday for the qualifying hats and the same time on Sunday for the Championship races.
