Following on from yesterdays Pre` 80 Bangers Press Release the feedback via info@incarace.co.uk has been superb.
Drivers have been emailing us to ask about if they can use specific cars at this event.
Firstly I need to remind everybody that the rules in the previous news item (which will also be included again at the bottom of this statement) are PROVISIONAL.
A couple of drivers have already brought cars for this event, which is fantastic!!
An example of a question, which has been asked, was sent to us by Sean McKnight asking if he can use an Mk 5 Cortina?
The Ford Cortina was built from 1962 to 1982 in it’s different models.
At time of writing the decision on cars that can be used are only cars, which have been built before 1980 so for example an Mk5 Cortina was built from 1979 to 1982, could not be used unless the driver can provide proof via the cars Log Book that it was manufactured before the 1980 cut-off line.
I would ask that anybody who has anymore questions such as the one asked by Sean to please contact us via info@incarace.co.uk ASAP as we will be confirming fixtures within the next 2 weeks and after this point the supplementary rules will also be confirmed and this includes the section on cars which will be outlawed.
The promotion reserves the right to refuse any car to race, which we deem to not be within the rules of the event so to avoid any disappointment once again please get in contact with us!
Current provisional supplementary rules:-
1. All cars MUST have been built prior to 1980.
2. All cars MUST be built to the 2013 INCARACE Banger (Rookie) Rules, Regulations and Specifications (which will be available in the near future) however, the engine limit has been increased to a maximum size 1800cc instead of the normal 1600cc limit.
3. No engine transplants are allowed.
4. At present the only cars that are to be outlawed are the Ford Granada’s, Mini and any type of van.
