Incarace will be hosting the 15th Annual Veterans Day Meeting in 2013 at the Hednesford Hills Bowl on Sunday 30th June.
Alongside the Veterans Unlimited National Bangers we are also running a one-off Pre-1980 “Rookie” Banger event.
The Veterans Day Meeting is just going from strength to strength and it is hoped that the Pre 80 Bangers will also add even more flavour to the mix.
As ever at these special type events, the rules have posed a few questions, but we are now able to confirm the exact construction rules that have been agreed.
Firstly, all cars MUST be built to the 2013 INCARACE Banger (Rookie) Rules, Regulations and Specifications, with the exception that the engine limit has been increased to a maximum size 1800cc and that Cortina’s and Capri’s will be allowed for this meeting.
The model of car must have been in production prior to 1980.
No engine transplants are allowed – the original type of engine to that specific type of model MUST be used. As an example you cannot use a 1600 Crossflow in a Mk2 or Mk3 Capri or in a Mk4 or Mk5 Cortina, because those models were not manufactured with that engine.
The radiator rule must be strictly adhered to. i.e. No steam tanks are allowed.
No new tyres can be used.
If you are unsure about an unusual vehicle please ring the office on 0121-357-7328 to confirm if it is ok be used. The 2013 Banger rules can be downloaded from the website either from the Banger formula tab or the Drivers tab under rules – please read them carefully.
Please note that the concept of the Pre ’80 Bangers on the day is ‘Old School Racing’ and purely a bit of fun; hopefully we will be able to see some unusual cars and provide some really good support to the Veterans.
It has already been rumoured that some drivers are looking to bring out cars with race engines etc that is why we feel the need to re-emphasise to everyone that NO engine transplants are allowed and must have the original type of engine to that specific model as stated above.
We need to reserve the right to amend the rules if any loop holes ave been missed - purely in the interest of a successful meeting.
It's now time to make your official booking with INCARACE. The application form and day licence can be downloaded by clicking below. Please do book in as soon as you know you are going to race – a good booking list will only encourage others to join what should be a super day.
It really is important for all drivers to fill in the application form too, because hopefully you will be able to tell us a few things about your racing career and this information will be used in the production of a special commemorative programme for the day.
As soon as we receive your application form at Head Office you will then be officially booked in.
If anybody has any other enquiries please do not hesitate to call of alternatively email:- info@incarace.co.uk
Once again this meeting really is a celebration of the history of all forms of Short Oval Racing and one of the biggest crown jewels in the sport known as Hednesford Hills Raceway.
We look forward to seeing you all there for what will be a fantastic days entertainment!
