Thank you to all drivers, spectators and staff for making the May Day Spectacular an overall success with some superb racing, stunts and caravan chaos to finish off the day in style.
We also hope that everybody enjoyed the Pace Car rides before start time! At one point we thought we would still be doing them at 3pm with the queue of kids lining up with their families for a ride just getting bigger and bigger! The opportunity for Pace Car rides again is at out next meeting at Hednesford Hills on Sunday 19th May when the 2 Litre National Bangers take to the oval for the 2013 World Championship!
Timmy The Tire would also like to say “See You Soon” to everybody who waved and joined in the fun with him. Timmy enjoyed the day so much that he too is coming back to visit on the 19th May!
Throughout the day we watched some of the best racing we have seen at Hednesford in a long time however it appears that some drivers and mechanics were going to do their best to ruin the days fun for everybody.
The situation, which occurred with several drivers after Banger Heat 1, is simply unacceptable and will not be tolerated! Banger racing has always been for 50 years about people coming to Hednesford, racing with a crash and smash, enjoying their hobby and going home with a smile on their face already thinking about the next meeting. It is obvious to everybody that some people find it difficult to achieve this goal and unfortunately a huge family crowd had to witness arguments on the track and apparently this also spilled over into the pit area shortly afterwards.
Regardless of if there were 50 people or 3000 people at the meeting the behaviour of these drivers and their associated parties is going to be dealt with in due course via a combination of racing and stadium bans which will be sent to the various parties officially in writing within the next few days.
Incarace would like to remind ALL drivers that you are not only responsible for yourself but the people who accompany you to any race meeting and that everybody including staff, spectators and yourselves are all there to enjoy a good days racing and anybody who has any other intentions are not welcome at any INCARACE tracks!
We also are seeing an increasing problem with people entering the track area of the stadium without permission of the Steward or Clerk Of The Course. Any persons who enter the track area without permission will be escorted off the premises and also risk a stadium ban.
We have also been made aware of an increasing problem of people smoking illegal substances within the raceway. This again is not acceptable and as a result we are now going to be working with the local authorities at future meetings to deal with this problem.
It was brought to our attention late in the day about the issue with water in the toilets. After investigation we have found that the mains pipes in the bottom pits area had been tampered with resulting in the water tanks running dry. Incarace can only apologies for this and measures are been taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We are currently in the process of upgrading the toilets at Hednesford and works are ongoing to improve the facilities in the near future at the raceway.
Finally, we would once again like to re-emphasise that Incarace are committed to providing good, fun family entertainment for both the adults and children who visit our raceways whether it’s once a year or every week and our main goal will continue to be to do our best to achieve this goal!
Thank you to everybody who visited our raceways over the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend and we look forward to seeing you all in the future.
