The annual Classic day for the National Bangers at Hednesford Hills Raceway takes place on Sunday 29th September from 1.30pm, with the National Bangers joined on the day by the Classic Hot Rods and the Heritage F2 Stock Cars, plus a Classic Car Show and Parade.
The rules for the National Bangers have changed a little for 2013, the main change being that the limit is now Pre 1975 rather than Pre 1968.
In the under 1650cc class mk.3 Cortinas are not permitted, neither are mk.2 Capris. Engine changes must be age related and the 1300 Crossflow engine may be used, but NOT the 1600 Crossflow. Some cars with engines over 1650cc are permitted, namely:
Max 1750cc ONLY for the following specified cars on original engines:
Austin Maxi
Hillman Hunter
Hillman Minx
Hillman Super Minx
Morris Ital
Max 1800cc ONLY for the following specified cars on original engines:
Austin/Morris 1800 (land crab)
Morris Marina
In the unlimited class, last year's ban on mk.10 Jags has been lifted, but the mk.10 and 420G Jags and the Daimler DS420 can still only be used on original running gear, i.e. no XJ series beds etc. Engine swaps are permitted in the overs class as long as there are no power ups, so V6 is allowed. Mk.1 Granadas and XJ Jags are not permitted.
