Over the past few weeks several Spedeworth / Incarace promoted meetings have had formulas cancelled due to insufficient car numbers.

We would like to re-emphasise that we do not cancel formulas lightly, but are also listening to drivers when they tell us that they are struggling to commit to every meeting due to various reasons, but one of the big issues for many people at the moment is money and we do rely heavily on formulas to race week in and week out.

During the 2014 fixture planning back in late 2013 the fixtures were planned with the exception of Bangers to try and accommodate each formula at a race meeting every two weeks, but due to the amount of formulas per meeting and the overall amount of meetings which need to be run on occasions, especially in the Summer, some formulas are run two weeks in succession.

We have tried to avoid this as much as possible but in the past month we have had to cancel formulas i.e. 2.0 Stock Cars, Superstox due to low car numbers but these formulas have also been scheduled to race back to back weeks.

Spedeworth / Incarace would like to re-emphasise that we are 100% committed to all of our formulas across all of our tracks, but at the same time we are aware that we need to be able to produce top quality race meetings for the paying public to come and be entertained, whilst the drivers get their thrill of racing and putting on the superb show.

The decision to cancel a formula is never done lightly and a decision about running a race meeting or altering the format in anyway has to be done in advance of the race date so we can publicise any change as much as possible. We aim to make decisions like these by midweek for weekend meetings and would ask all drivers that booking in to race at meetings is essential to making a race meeting a success by allowing us to give the event as much advertising as we can.

One big key to all of this are the Spedeworth / Incarace websites and the fixture preview pages, where we update the booking lists on a daily basis to show drivers and fans how many cars are booked in and which drivers are racing, but a poor booking list gives a negative vibe about a meeting and if car numbers are looking poor in a specific formula we will look to remove the formula completely or replace the formula with another.

If closer to the race meeting a driver finds themselves unable to honour their booking then please call us to cancel on the same number as you would book-in:- 01252 322920.

Some formulas that we run are extremely good at booking in for race meetings but there are other formulas who are not so good, and as a result of not booking in you can cause your formula to be cancelled.

All the above being said, the booking lists for many of our meetings this season have got off to a superb start with booking lists on many occasions having to be closed due to the amount of cars booking in and track or pit space limits.

Once again we would like to remind all of our drivers and race fans that we are devoted to making sure that Spedeworth / Incarace oval racing is the best in the UK, and we will be reviewing each race meeting throughout the year to see if we can improve the fixtures, and at the same time allow the drivers and race fans plenty of racing with full grids of cars.
