We are very sad to have to report the passing of BriSCA F2 Stock Car driver 154 Steve Green Jnr who lost his fight against a cancer related illness on Monday 23rd Februrary.
Racing was very much in the Warwickshire-based Green family’s blood, with Steve’s grandfather Stan Green 353/122 the first of the family to hit the tracks and 15 Steve Green Snr following in his wheeltracks.
Steve Jnr was a star of the F2 world for many years, in particular on the tarmac tracks of Incarace at Birmingham, Northampton and Hednesford along with successful sojourns to Buxton, Skegness and the south west. He was a central figure in the Birmingham-based Central League competition run in the mid-2000s and was always one of the most rapid names on tarmac.
Steve’s younger brother 115 Michael has become an F2 star in his own right in recent years, winning the World Masters and Northampton track championship among other honours to continue his family’s tradition of stock car racing. Michael has stated that he will take over his brother’s number of 154 when he returns to the race tracks, in tribute to Steve.
Everyone at Incarace would like to extend their deepest condolences to the Green family and their friends at this sad time.
