Following the ORCi Ministox Midland Championship Final at Hednesford Hills Raceway on Sunday 22nd March 2015, the first three cars were subjected to initial post race scrutineering checks, which included a ride height check.
There was a query on car 219 on the measurement of the ride height as the car failed the ride height check because at the specific point of measurement, the roof gutter was below the minimum height required due to previous race damage.
Several other measurements were taken, including comparison with another Ministox racing on that day and all of those measurements pointed towards the car being within the rules.
The query was reported to the Ministox Sub Committee for clarification, as whilst it was understood that the car technically failed the check, by all other means of checking the car was within the spirit of the rules.
The Ministox Sub Committee supported the referral from Incarace and understood their position and have now declared that the car should not be disqualified and should retain its 3rd place finish.
They have further declared that the car may remain as is and additional measurement criteria will be appended to the 2015 ORCi Ministox rules.
