After the wildfire between the Raceway and Rawnsley Road at Hednesford Hills yesterday, we would like to thank everyone for their co-operation whilst we worked with the authorities to ensure the safety of those who were with us at the event.
Whilst the fire was completely outside of the stadium grounds, it did impact the event with a significant delay to racing whilst the fire was contained and controlled by the Fire Service.
We would like to thank Staffordshire Fire & Rescue and Staffordshire Police for their hard work to protect not just the visitors at the event, but the Raceway and surrounding areas. The size of the response, and the non-stop work of their teams during such difficult conditions this year cannot be overlooked.
For everyone who was with us on both sides of the fence - including race fans, drivers and teams - thank you for your patience whilst we worked with the authorities and co-operation in moving to different parts of the stadium when needed.
We would also like to thank the Staff & Officials for their hard work in dealing with the situation; proving the power of teamwork and the putting training into action during an ever-changing afternoon.
Not only did the event continue, but it produced some excellent race action with the Scrapco Ninja Karts National Championship going down to the wire as well as plenty of thrills in the Back to Basics Bangers and a handful of last benders in the V8 and BriSCA F2 Stock Cars.
Once again, thank you to everyone for your co-operation and we hope to see you at the Raceway soon.
