The bookings for the PRE- 80 Bangers at the Veterans meeting are really disappointing for something that we considered would be a very good event to support the Veteran Banger Day.

It is understood that the main problem is that the cars are hard to get hold of and fetching too much money!

We really do want the event to go ahead, particularly as we are aware that the cars that have been built are real crackers!

In order to help things along, we are proposing to open up the cars eligible a little, almost turning it into a Pre-85 event by now allowing the following cars outside the original Pre-80 spec.

Sierra
Montego
Maestro
Manta
BMW 316/318
We will not be allowing HONDA’s though.

Daz Owen from Chase Car Spares has kindly put some sponsorship money on the Pre-80/85 event in the form of 3 x £50 entertainer awards.

So the drivers that were looking for cars, hopefully with the re-think we will be able to support the cars already booked and get a good grid on the day. Clearly, if we don’t get anyone else book we will probably have to cancel them, but hopefully it won’t come to that.
