With great regret, we annouce the very sad passing of BriSCA F2 driver Phil Williams (313).
Phil was a regular racer at Incarace tracks and with his devoted wife Sue, enjoyed his racing very much.
Phil was one of the quite ones, but very popular with everyone in the pits and had a great friendship with fellow driver Robert Dobie (623).
Phil was retiring from work (after 42 years) on 28th July just two days after his 60th birthday. His plans were to fish and devote more time to racing going around more tracks than he normally did - Hednesford being one of them. The car is ready.
He went into hospital to have a cancerous kidney removed on 14th July but the cancer was very aggressive and attacked his breathing pipes and lungs after it was removed. Thankfully for him it was very quick - 8 weeks from diagnosis to the end.
Our thoughts are of course with his wife Sue at this very sad time - we will post details of the funeral in due course.
