It’s coming to the end of the 2014 INCARACE Banger season and it’s time for the big one…..
The Man Of The Midlands Championship!
The championship returns for its sixth year & for the fourth year in succession we are pleased to announce Wulfsport in association with Dave Gamble as the main sponsor. For 2014 Dave Gamble & Wulfsport have pledged a huge prize fund thanks to the fantastic support shown towards the Man Of The Midlands last year by all the drivers who came and raced over the two meeting event.
The Wulfsport sponsorship is as follows:-

A message from Dave Gamble:- “No driver can win more than one helmet. This is Banger racing which is all about contact and if that means taking the leader out so be it and may the best driver win!!”
The total prize pot from Wulfsport in association with Dave Gamble is over £500 and with more sponsors to announce this will be the biggest Man Of The Midlands event of the year!!
The event will once again be held over 2 days, and like last year the event takes place over 2 weekends with qualifying heats returning to Birmingham Wheels at the annual Halloween meeting on Saturday 25th October at 6pm and the Championship race on Sunday 2nd November at Hednesford Hills Raceway’s Firework Spectacular which has a 1.30pm start time.
At BWR there will be 3 races for the Bangers with an INCARACE Draw taking place to determine pole each race. Each of these 3 races will be a qualifying heat and will carry the same amount of points.
We then fast forward a week to the Man Of The Midlands Championship day itself at Hednesford Hills Raceway and like previous years we understand that there will be some drivers who cannot make BWR the week before so the 1st Banger race will be the Last Chance Points Race (Points will be scored the same as the BWR qualifying heats). All drivers are eligible for this race so if you raced at BWR there’s 1 more chance for you to add points to your total before the Championship race.
2nd race of the day will be the 2014 Man Of The Midlands Championship Final.
All drivers are eligible however; the priority on the grid now goes to the points scorers. The more points that have been scored accumulatively over the 4 races (3 heats & Last Chance race) the higher up the grid you go with the top point’s scorer being on pole. Non-points scorers start at the rear of the field in random order decided by the Clerk Of The Course.
3rd race of the meeting will be the Grand National Race where the 2014 Man Of The Midlands Champion starts with the challenge of making it back to victory lane from a 1-lap handicap starting at the front of the field.
For the past 5 years the Man Of The Midlands Championship Event has finished with the 4th race being the Destruction Derby to see who can be the last driver standing!
