Spedeworth/Incarace would like to thank everyone concerned yesterday with the running of the 2015 Heartbreaker Meeting at Northampton International Raceway.
Prospects looked really good in the bright, crisp and sunny morning for a good day ahead, but right on cue as per the weather forecast, the conditions slowly worsened from a start time drizzle to a full blown gale force afternoon of wind and rain!
It didn’t seem to dampen the spirits of many drivers, especially the Juniors who put a superb show – 45 cars raced in total and not quite as many finished the meeting – great driving from the youngsters. Heat wins for Alfie Vince and Ben Raby paved the way for Sophie Fasey to take the Heartbreaker Final ahead of fellow Ministox driver Harry Steward and third placed Jamie Hopkins.
Their Adult counterparts got stuck in too and gave the crowd some superb racing to watch across both 2 Litre and the Unlimited boys. Heat wins for Ricky Beasley and Lee Clarke set up a cracking Heartbreaker Final for Ricky with Jack Chubby Foster sneaking in for second in front of 3rd place Lee Clarke
Tom Waller and Boxer Jack took the honours heat-wise in the Unlimited’s before Jack Overy braved the horrendous conditions for the Heartbreaker Final win in the Unlimited’s ahead of Timmy Aldridge and Jack Tuffen.
It really did turn into the weather from hell. Many thanks to all the drivers and mechanics for a great effort and special thanks to the marshals and officials who stood out there all day to make the racing possible.
The weather didn't fair any better at Birmingham Wheels either where the 2015 'Tuning and Testing' day would have been more suitable to test boats rather than cars. Again thanks to those who attended the day and to the officials who made it possible.
