The annual Best in Britain meeting at Wimbledon Stadium is one of the most eagerly anticipated meetings of the winter months among Spedeworth race fans and while it may have been cold and damp the action was hot from the start to the finish.
We were delighted to have visitors from Northern Ireland among the entry for the 2.0 Hot Rods who put on a great show last night. In fact, it was one of these visitors who took the first heat of the night Wayne Woolsey 50. Paul Wright 43 drove to victory in the second heat and then finished third in the final behind 65 Mark Willis and the aforementioned Woolsey. However, both these drivers had caught the Steward's eye for misdemeanours and were therefore docked 2 places each - elevating the 43 car to victory lane!
Our congratulations go to the top 3 in the Best in Britain final:
43 Paul Wright
304 Danny Fiske
65 Mark Willis
(Pending the result of an appeal)
Our thanks go to all drivers who attended and put on such a great show in damp & slippery conditions.
Thanks to Chris Berry for the photos.
