Spedeworth wish to announce that, following extensive consultation with a number of manufacturers, there have been amendments to the permissable purchase price for shock absorbers on both Superstox and 2.0 Hot Rods.
As we all know, the cost of everything has increased lately and the same goes for the costs that manufacturers incur in producing their products. One manufacturer (Quantum) had actually requested an increase to £205 per unit which, at a time when we are all tightening our belts, was thought to be excessive and this is the reason behind the phasing out of these particular shock absorbers during 2012 in the 2.0 Hot Rod formula.
For Superstox the following amendment applies:
9. Front Suspension
2. As from January 1st 2011; any readily available shock absorber with a purchase price not exceeding £95 + VAT may be used. There will be, however, be provision for any licensed Superstox driver to purchase the shock absorbers from a fellow competitor’s car for a maximum price of £127.50 per unit.
For 2.0 Hot Rods the following amendment applies:
3 Bodywork/Space Frame
Shock Absorbers (Front & Rear)
d) Any readily available shock absorber with a purchase price not exceeding £125 + VAT may be used. There will be, however, provision for any licensed 2 Litre Hot Rod Driver to purchase the shock absorbers from a fellow competitor's car for a price of £162.75 including VAT per unit.
Spedeworth Motorsports wish to emphasise that this increase does not benefit Spedeworth Motorsports in any way. Every penny of this increase will go to covering the increased costs in producing these components.
