Following the cancellation of the Bangers at Yarmouth on 22nd April due to low numbers, we have been looking at ways to make the formula more accessible to more drivers.
As a result, we have changed some of the fixtures for 2012 to try and encourage more drivers to race.
There will now be 3 different types of event, as shown below. Definitions are as follows:
Normal - usual Banger rules apply.
1800 - usual Banger rules apply but with the upper engine size increased to 1800cc.
Back to Basics - in these events no Honda engines will be permitted, there are to be no bolts other than for the drivers door plate and roll cage. All other doors, bonnet and boot can only be secured with seat belt for these meetings, but the radiator may still be relocated within the engine bay.
Schedule:
6th May - u1800 (Norfolk Championship)
20th May - Normal
27th May - Back to Basics
17th June - Normal
24th June - u1800
15th July - Normal
5th August - u1800
26th August - Back to Basics
9th September - Back to Basics
23rd September - Normal
7th October - Normal (teams)
The remaining events of 2012 on 21st October and 4th November will be considered further once we see how things are working.
