Yesterday at Aldershot Raceway saw the swansong for one of the sport’s longest serving drivers.
42 Pete Blomfield, from Sandhurst, raced his V8 Stock Car for the final time as he has decided to retire from racing.
Pete has been racing since 1968 the original Formula 2 Stock Cars, moving on to the original Superstox, as well as Hot Rods, Super Rods and of course the V8 Stock Cars, and has decided to retire gracefully!
As well as being a dedicated racer, Pete has become a good friend of our promoter Deane Wood over the years, and was one of the people who helped build the new Aldershot Raceway where he signed off on a fantastic career.
Pete has indicated that he will still be at Spedeworth's tracks on a regular basis supporting the V8 Stock cars from the safe side of the fence - we wish him well in his retirement!
