Ahead of a packed weekend of Hednesford Hills oval motorsport, here's an insight into how the grid spots are determined across the different classes.
1300cc Stock Cars
The Stock Cars are going for gold, with the best of Spedeworth, DMC, HRP and Trackstar taking on the global seeds. The main race is the first of the weekend, and the grid is made up of different sections - with each driver drawing against the other drivers in their position from other promotions.
For example, drivers drawing for spaces 1-4 on the grid are the drivers who finished at the top of the points at their respective home promotion. This sees Spedeworth's #23 Lee Pearce, HRP's #188 Jamie Stewart, Trackstar's #303 Jacob Bromley and DMC's #922 Curtis Greer drawing their grid positions against each other. Who will be on pole? The luck of the draw will determine that!
This continues with different seeds throughout the grid, with the luck of the draw giving drivers their positions against whoever finished in their position in the points from the rest of the season.
Drivers from Denmark, South Africa, Germany and The Netherlands will start in allocated grid spots based on their times from practice on Friday.
In the end, we will have over 50 drivers in a closed grid battling for the gold roof with 20 laps ahead of them to determine the World Champion! The draw will be done on the stadium PA from 12:30pm on Saturday, so be sure to listen out for the grid to unfold as the anticipation rises for 2025's biggest 1300cc Stock Car race.
National Hot Rods, Stock Rods + Classic Stock Rods
The grids are determined by a draw when drivers sign in, with each driver racing 3 times on Saturday to accumulate those all important points ahead of Sunday's big races.
Across the 3 races, drivers have a rough front, middle and back starting position - with consistency the key to unlock more points, with the highest points scorer starting the final on pole. Drivers in their heats are awarded points down to 40th place where possible.
