All engines and gearboxes must remain standard. On the Vauxhall Astra you cannot use the 8-valve fly wheel even though we believe the early 16-valve engine does have the same fly wheel as the 8-valve but we are not allowing this fly wheel. All gearboxes and gear ratios on all Bangers must remain standard to the vehicle e.g. Ford Focus cannot use a Ford Fiesta gearbox or change the gear ratios inside the gearbox. Mk4 & Mk5 Vauxhall Astras’ must use the gearbox, gear cluster and differential that comes standard to the car.
All springs must remain standard to the car and symmetrical from side to side.
The only rubbers/packers to be used are the ones which come standard to the car. If a rubber is removed on one side it must also be removed on the other side to allow the car to remain symmetrical.
All broken springs must be changed before racing. Springs may be tied in but must not be used in anyway to compress the spring.
All cars in the upcoming World Championship race at Foxhall Heath Stadium, Ipswich on Saturday 18th November 2023 must be using the same size tyres and wheels across each axle e.g. front to front, back to back. If a wheel and tyre is on the driver side front it must have the same specification of wheel and tyre on the passenger side front. This is the same rule for the rear axle.
A reminder also that fin plates must be to the 2023 1600 Bangers rules book which is plain black numbers on a white background.
