It's all about World Qualifying Points at Aldershot on Sunday with the National Hot Rods racing in the final round of the English World Series, sponsored by Hoosier Race Tire/A&S Aggregates.
17 is the magic number - with #17 Rob McDonald piloting his Ginetta to the top of the table, and with 17 drivers from the series progressing to the World Final - it's still all to play for for many drivers!
#629 John Sibbald - racing the Sibbald Training/Cappers Plant Hire Ginetta - currently holds that all important last slot on the World Final grid with 285 points, but is followed closely by #22 Lance Bowen in the Leominster Auto Supplies Ginetta (279 points), #209 Kym Weaver in the Weaver Bros. Roofing Vauxhall (270 points) and #31 Dick Hillard in the Hillard Motor Services Vauxhall (228 points).
Just above, in positions 15 and 16 is #105 Karl Baker in the DW Commercial Vehicle Services Ginetta (297 points) and young gun #32 Ashley Shaw in the Treadfirst Vauxhall (292 points). They will be hoping for a successful day on track to get themselves on the grid at Foxhall in just over 1 month's time.
Don't forget, the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars head to the Rushmoor venue for the first time ever in their penultimate qualifying round too - with a tarmac World Final at Skegness this September getting ever-closer and two tarmac rounds remaining at Aldershot on Sunday and Ipswich in a couple of weeks time.
Drivers in the thunderous, V8-powered formula will be doing their best to get as high up the Semi Final grid as possible with the last few points on offer.
Completing the lineup are the National Ministox: the formula which need no introduction if you have ever seen them in action. These youngsters may go on to race in BriSCA F1 Stock Cars or National Hot Rods in the future, but right now they are not to be missed with bumperwork throughout the field - sometimes even out performing the adults when it comes to on the edge of your seat action and thrill-packed moments. National Champion #425 Boden Murfin heads the lineup alongside a great entry of drivers - some of who are the newest generation of Stock Car families taking to the track!
Don't miss Aldershot Raceway this Sunday - it's a special event which many thought would never happen. Be there to experience it...
