A big thank you to all of our drivers and their teams, our staff and of course spectators for braving the unseasonal cold over the weekend at Ipswich and Wimbledon!
Ipswich saw some horrendous conditions with sideways snow at times, as Chris Berry's photos of our start marshal Alex Dunmore and Superstox in the pit area show!
Wimbledon saw the climax of the Banger Track Championship sponsored by Matrix Office Services, the series being won by 558 Rob Haines who deserves congratulations for winning it by over 100 points, 529 Keith Conlon taking 2nd by a significant margin too! 3rd place was up for grabs though and it was 426 Mark Pope who pipped team mate 310 Mark Longhurst to pinch it! Longhurst had to settle for a race win on the night with 594 Alex Giuntini winning the other two. Well done to all the drivers - the Junior Bangers put on a good show, and we even had the unusual occurrence of a dead heat in the Historic Stock Cars Final between 8 Kevin Harrison and 523 Tim Olding!
Thank you to Matrix Office Services for their sponsorship of the Wimbledon Bangers, which now passes over to Refine Metals when we return to racing at the London SW17 venue in September!
Thanks also to Chris Berry for the photos!
