Spedeworth are pleased to announce that another big race has been added to the greatest racing weekend in the oval calendar.
The Spedeworth Wacky Races will start at around 9.30 on Sunday morning and will feature around ten teams and consist of one lap around Foxhall.
The race will be contested by racers from different formulas, in vehicles of their choice, which must be man powered and have a passenger/driver at all times. Each team consists of four people. The grapevine suggests we will have all manner of jalopies in attendance!
Bangers are led by Cecil and his Banger boys including Big Hoss - it will be interesting to see him running a lap! The Superstox have a team of top stars including Jason Cooper, Steven Jackson, Chris Roots and captain Alex Meadows. Billy Wood and George Morphey are among the drivers teaming up in the 2 litre Stock Cars, Mark Willis heads up the 2.0 Hot Rods and must feel he has drawn the short straw as he has to get the likes of Dan Smith or Gavin Botfield around the track.
Clark Wells is building a racer for the 1300 Stock Cars but could be classed as a traitor as he also preparing one for the Scottish team being put together by Les Waller. Dean O’Dell, Adam Eyles and Gordon Coull head up the Stock Rod, Lightning Rod and Historic Stock Cars outfits respectfully. Tom Casey has promised a team from Southern Ireland, but the last word must go to Darren Black from Northern Ireland who insists his team of Hylands, Beattie, McKee and Cardwell are “coming to win it”.
So join us early, watch the fun, cheer your favourites on to win the Spedeworth Wacky Races, then settle down for the 2013 CP Dynes National Hot Rod Championship of the World!
