We would like to respond to an article in the September issue of Wheelspin by John Aylward, regarding the David Rogers Micra Ministox which was turned away from an event at Pr1mo Northampton.
John has said that it was 'a disgrace' that the Micra had been turned away.
The ORCi had ruled prior to that event that the experimental Micras were no longer permitted to race in the Ministox formula. Clark Wells, who built and owns the car along with Spedeworth Motorsports, was told well in advance of the meeting that it was not permitted to be raced. As the Ministox driver concerned also had a Mini to race, when he booked in to race it was assumed that he would be bringing the Mini rather than the Micra.
While we are always happy to receive constructive criticism, in this instance we felt it was not justified so wanted to take the opportunity to put the record straight.
