Some terrific Superstox racing last night at a packed Arlington Stadium which ended with a Southern Championship win for 23 Matt Carberry, who battled his way through after an unfortunate yellow flag, as Jason Cooper and Chris Capon clattered into the fence.
Nick Roots lead for some time with Jordan Aylward chasing hard behind him, and both were going well until the aforementioned yellow flag which closed up the field, allowing Carberry to make his move and take the lead he was never to lose. Our thanks go to Graphics by Dave for his kind sponsorship and for handing out freebies to the drivers all night too!
The earlier heats in the Superstox went to Chris Capon and Jason Cooper, with Carberry having a good night coming 3rd and 4th in the other races too.
As well as the Superstox, there was a large field of 48 Micro National Bangers, Keith Reynolds winning the Final and Tom Farren the Demolition Derby, with plenty of crashes and pile ups throughout the night in the races.
The Stock Rods also raced last night in a Polleysport / Yokohama Tyres series round to complete the nights racing with Eric Walker winning heat and Final and Ashley Brown taking the other heat.
Arlington's final Wednesday night meeting is next Wednesday 25th September with the climax of the South Coast Hydraulics Banger Track Championship, plus the 1300cc Stock Car Southern Championship and the 2.0 Stock Cars in a Wealden Services Challenge Series round, all starts at 7.30pm.
Thanks to Keith Hobson for the photos!
