We finished off Eastbourne's midweek racing season last night with a full contact spectacular with some colourful fireworks thrown in!
On a wet night, we saw the Bangers finish their South Coast Hydraulics sponsored Track Championship with overall victory for Darren Terry, with Rob Haines second and Mark Pope coming through in third. It was a lively night with plenty of crashing and a pile up down the back straight to add to the entertainment. The top 3 are pictured here having just received their photos from Ian at South Coast Hydraulics, who we thank for their generous sponsorship throughout the season.
The 1300cc Stock Car Southern Championship was also a lively affair with a number of cars bouncing off the armco as they used the outside line to get through, but it was Jason Scopes (also pictured) who won through in the end with 713 Ian Beaumont coming home in 2nd and Dan Rosenthal in 3rd.
There were also fireworks of a different kind last night with a dozen 2.0 Stock Cars racing for a Wealden Services Challenge Round. 7 Colin Farley won the final through the slippery conditions with Brandon Osborne battling through to come second and Daniel Langley 3rd.
The real Fireworks rounded off our Wednesday night sessions for this year, but we will be back next year for some more spectacular Stock Car Racing at Arlington in 2014!
Well done to all our drivers and mechanics for their hard work and racing this year and to all our supporters and staff for helping us make this another great season at Arlington.
We also thank our sponsors for their support this year and we hope we see them all next year.
This is not our last meeting however, as we return for our spectacular last meeting of the year which is our GALA NIGHT featuring the Unlimited National Bangers, including a Destruction Derby, together with the Historic Stock Cars.
There is also a Gigantic Fireworks Display to light up the sky and round off a superb year at Arlington Raceway.
The action starts at 6pm so get there early and join us for a great night of action!
Thanks to Keith Hobson for the photos!
