Spedeworth/Incarace are proud to report that Tommy Boulden won the Ninja Kart English Championship at Skegness on Saturday 18th April. Mick Wooderson takes up the story;
After travelling Aldershot to Skegness non stop because the van had gearbox troubles and once going they didn't dare stop, team #249 got the kart scrutineered and prepared for the first race as there was no practice. Luckily Tommy draw pole position and drove a steady race to take the win.
Heat two featured a reverse grid and from the rear of the field Tommy zig - zag'd his way to mid way up the pack, unfortunately in trying too hard he spun and couldn't pull back on the track for several laps, which meant a poor finishing spot.
The English Championship grid was determined by an average from the two heats, Tommy lined up in fifth spot, remained calm and fought his way up to to the lead where he stayed until the chequers came out.
Tommy would like to thank Spedeworth Motorsports for selecting him to represent the Promotion in the English Championship and his sponsors Car and Metal Recycling, John Halifax Transport and Aquacare Services.
