Spedeworth / Incarace would like to make all Historic Stock Car drivers aware of the rule amendments for the formula which will also include experimental rules.
A drivers meeting was held at Spedeworth / Incarace HQ on Tuesday 8th November 2016.
Starting from the 1st January 2017 the faster Triumph drivers have agreed to run the tc/s 621 cam on an experimental basis.
It was also discussed for the very slow cars (A60’s, Magnettes, Consuls, Zodiacs etc) as an experiment to try the 1800cc black top zetec engine to see if this helps the cars to be competitive once more. Drivers must obtain permission from Spedeworth / Incarace to run this engine. You must use the Spedeworth authorised zetec kit.
There will be a buyers limit of £250.00 for the zetec engine minus carb + manifold, ecu + wiring loom, flywheel + clutch and the sump + pickup pipe.
Suspension has been agreed that cars with leaf springs and a beam axle can run any beam axle.
Shocker Absorbers - Only oil filled shocks permitted and age relate (no adjustable types). Cantilever type shocks may be replaced with telescopic type and brackets made so they can be fitted but not adjustable. These must be symmetrical from side to side.
Seat Position – We have removed the measurements for the Cortina and Triumph cars but seats must be fitted upright and this will be at the scrutineers discretion for oversize drivers.
Vehicle Weight – If you are running an 1800cc zetec engine the minimum weight limit will be 1200kg.
Finally, points chart roof grades must be the colour of your roof. The replica car rule will no longer exist as this is causing confusion for race officials and spectators. Your first race meeting with an incorrect roof grade will result in you starting at the rear of the grid. The second offence of the roof grade rule will result in you being refused to race.
The 2017 Historic Stock Car rule book will be available via the Spedeworth website in the near future.
