We were very saddened to hear the recent news of the passing of former Superstox Driver, #291 Mike Holton.
Mike had been involved in the sport for many years dating back to the very early 1970's where, together with young Nephews, #182 Gary Burch and #263 Martin Burch, the trio were stalwarts of the East Anglian Superstox Scene but were often seen on trips further afield also as we see Mike pictured here at Cowdenbeath.
During an incredibly competitive era in the sport, Mike and his Nephews were frequent winners but the sheer number of Drivers kept them hovering between both Star and Blue Grades.
We think Mike (Or Hedgehog as he was affectionately known) finally retired from racing around 1990 after a long and distinguished racing career.
Mike passed away on New Year’s Day and will be sadly missed by everyone involved in the sport during that era who found him to be a formidable Driver and one who did things ‘his way’.
Our sincere condolences go out to Mike’s Family, and many Friends at this sad time.
Further information will be posted regarding funeral arrangements if and when they are known.
