Last Night, Sunday 12th March, the Stock Rods were in action at Wimbledon to contest their 2017 ‘Last Ever, English Championship at the Raceway.
Spedeworth/Incarace would like to congratulate #212 John Smith on becoming the new 2017 Stock Rods English Champion with #300 Tristan Jackson second and #224 Ben Grant third.
It was also the Classic Hot Rods ‘Last ever’ London Championship to be staged at Wimbledon Raceway and this was taken by #201 Hughie Weaver from #72 Gary Goodswen and #271 Jamie Johnson who was third.
It was also the night we said farewell to Wimbledon Dons Speedway Club as former Riders under the organisation of John Stevens returned with Speedway Bikes throughout the era’s and put on an incredible display considering it was many a year since Wimbledon had a shale surface. The winner of the ‘display race’ was former World Number 3 Gordon Kennett who put on an incredible fast display with full broadsliding!
The next meeting for the Stock Rods is Saturday 25th March at Birmingham.
For the Classic Hot Rods, their next meeting is the Scottish Open up at Lochgelly Raceway over the weekend of 1st and 2nd April.
Bookings are been taken now and can be made by calling 01252 322920, on the text service 07949 138108, by email info@spedeworth.co.uk or complete the drivers booking-in form.
Once again well done to both John Smith and Hughie Weaver on their successes.
