For the National Banger World Final at Ipswich this Saturday, we will be running transponders for all World Finalists.
Therefore would all Qualifiers please ensure that their cars are ready to take the transponder on arrival at the track.
A 4” square hole should be cut on 3 sides as close to the roll cage as possible, on the passenger side, and the flap bent up in order that the transponder can be either cable tied or taped to the flap. The qualifiers from the last chance races will also need to make the appropriate arrangements after winning their heat!
It is the driver’s responsibility to fit the transponder securely. It should be noted that in order to achieve good reception, the transponder should be as close to the hole in the floor as possible, i.e. as low on the cut flap as possible.
Transponders will be loaned to drivers by Spedeworth, and the driver (not mechanic) will need to sign for his transponder and pay a deposit of £10 which will be returned when the transponder is returned. Needless to say anyone not returning their transponder will have to be dealt with!
Can you please let your drivers know so they are aware.
Please can everyone assist us to ensure that drivers are made aware of this if they do not have internet access to read this. We are endeavouring to contact everyone separately anyway.
