The sun is out for the first meeting of 2012 here at Aldershot Raceway. Around 70 National Bangers are in attendance along with the V8 Stock Cars, Junior Rookie Bangers and an incredible turnout of Ninja Karts!

Heat One
842 Keaton Ivins, 136, 614, 311, 138, 198, 286, 121, 285.

The first of the 2012 did not last long! The red flags came out almost instantly as one kart failed to start and 201 Josh Dodge made contact with the 194 kart of Abbie Anscombe resulting in a wheel coming off the 201 kart. 842 looked quick and he proved that by taking the win.

Keaton Ivins takes another fine win to make it a double on the day!

10 Tyler Proudlock, 532, 331, 20, 177, 980, 216, 442, 73, 28.

Tyler Proudlock picks up where he left off in 2011 to take the win.

Ollie Owen takes a fine win in his Scooby-Doo NEC show car.

An extremely busy track meant that there was limited room to manoeuvre and the inevitable red flags brought this race to a stop twice before Tyler Proudlock crossed the line first having made his way to the front in his usual efficient manner. Well done to our top 3: Tyler Proudlock, Ollie Hosty and George Baker. An incredible day for the Ninja Karts which keep going from strength to strength.

National Bangers

Heat One (Half Cars)
331 Jason 'Boxer Jack' Jackson, 535, 133, 264, 486, 38, NOF.

A massive track blockage at the pit gate took out a number of fancied drivers. Boxer Jack looked quick in the 331 Cavalier and managed to overhaul long-time leader 535 to take the win. Jason leapt over the fence to give his trophy to a delighted young fan - a great gesture from one of the top drivers in the formula.

Heat Two (Half Cars)
759 Carl Fleming, 397, 256, 327, 78, 182, 239, 614, 380, 260.

Another 30-plus cars took to the track for the 2nd heat and, yet again, the pit bend so another big pile up of cars virtually blocking the track! The lead cars swapped the lead several times but it was Carl Fleming who was in the right place at the right time to take victory in the 759 car. The next race will have all cars that are fit to race and is bound to be lively!

Aldershot Open
456 Nathan Roberts, 264 Mark Wetland, 104, Shane Bird, 2, 759, 757, 331, 403, NOF.

A grid of over 40 National Bangers certainly put on a show as the pit gate saw the majority of the action. 104 Shane Bird crossed the line first but fell foul of the steward for corner cutting. An on form Nathan Roberts inherited the win in the 456 car from 264 Mark Wetland and the relegated Shane Bird.

All Comers Race

The pit bend was once again the place to be as the majority of the action took place at that end of the circuit! Boxer Jack takes his second win of the day.

Destruction Derby
206 Dave King takes the win in the DD from 759 Carl Fleming in 2nd.

Junior Bangers

A relatively trouble free run for Jack Grandon as he takes the win with several cars experience mechanical problems.

A good win for Patxi, son of National Banger star Ricky Beasley

V8 Stock Cars
Heat One
32 Daryl Harris, 123, 42, 71, 2, 98, 30, 895, NOF.

A decent race saw the V8s flying around the Aldershot tarmac. 32 Daryl Harris took the win from a flying Dave Miles Jnr who narrowly missed out on taking his second win of the weekend having won the Superstox East Anglian Championship last night at Ipswich.

The 98 & 123 cars spun early on and the chase was on for Daryl Harris to catch the 42 machine of Pete Blomfield. Once ahead, Harris powered away to seal a race winning double.

A cracking race with the 32 & 123 cars struggling to catch the 42 machine. Once ahead Dave Miles Jnr hunted down the 32 car and managed to make contact on the last bend to take a hard earned win!
