Chaotic start to race 1 with 207 Jack Grandon going for a gap which wasn't there and hitting the fence! A complete restart which sees 318 Ryan Allgood off to a flier, but Grandon reels him in and takes over to get the chequered in the opening Junior Rod race of 2012!

Heat 2 - 207 Jack Grandon, 35, 12, 330, 271, 114, 56, 297, 318, 61.

Jack Grandon makes it two in a row with a win in the second heat, some contact between 297 and 318 resulting in Allgood being docked 2 places. It's a promotion to red grade for 207 for the Final so can he make it a hat-trick from that bit further back?!

Final - 12 Reece Humphris, 114 Mike Beal, 207 Jack Grandon, 318, 56, 61, NOF.

The hat-trick evades Grandon and after a good battle between 271 Lacey-May Joyce and 12 Reece Humphris for the lead, it's a clash while trying to pass back marking 61 Aaron Totham which takes out 2nd placed 271 and 3rd placed 35 Mitchell Souter leaving Humphris with a clear run to the flag!

So it's 279 Phil Proctor on pole, with 161 Billy Smith joining him on the front row, with 167 James Meadows and 35 Chris Stewart from Scotland on row 2. Defending champ Gilchrist has to do it the hard way from grid 27, back row!

Lining up now.......30 laps of hard and fast racing will be under way shortly on the Aldershot Raceway, the track is more or less dry with a few lurking clouds above!

As expected the big heave into the 1st bend happens, and it takes care of Scotsman 35 Chris Stewart who hits the fence hard, 376 Steven Jackson is also out of the restart as are 432 Michael Robinson and 482 Jason Cooper. The rest are taking their places on the grid for a complete restart....

Heat 1 - 482 Jason Cooper, 454, 151, 511, 376, 7, 521, 17, 60, 67.

Two-thirds Superstox for their first heat and a big crash with Gilchrist taking Billy Smith hard into the fence bringing out the red flags. 177 is loaded for fencing 161. From the restart 454 Dave Pike gets away but 482 Jason Cooper works hard to reel him in and punts him wide on the final bend to take it!

Heat 2 - 58 Luke Hamilton, 521, 233, 511, 124, 376, 69, 67, 60, 540.

Luke Hamilton takes the second heat holding on well from 521 Alan Gray in another good race which also sees 35 Chris Stewart in the fence.

Heat 3 - 482 Jason Cooper, 124, 69, 151, 7, 186, 233, 369, 100, 95.

The last race of the day for the Superstox and still two-thirds cars, 454 Squirrel away into the lead again early on, but he retires leaving 482 Cooper to take it up while 124 Miles Snr gets into 2nd ahead of 58 Hamilton who also retires, and Cooper takes the double!

BANGERS

Heat 1 - 710 Ben Wilkins, 201, 295, 817, NOF.

39 cars on track for the first Banger race! The first banger heat is stopped after 4 hectic laps of crashing with a rollover for 414 Jimmy Craig! Lap sheet order restart and after a good battle between 710 Ben Wilkins, 201 John Dodge and 666 Jason Brown it's Wilkins who takes it ahead of 201 and 295 Ashley Wallace in a lively race!

Heat 2 - 469 Paul Quinnell, 167, 710, 390, 580, 144, 918, 295, 545, NOF.

30 cars on track for heat 2 and it's 469 Paul Quinnell who fights his way through a heavy race to take the win, a pile up by the pit gate the highlight involving 706 Danny Lucas and 701 Marcus Dunn with 197 Peter Dodge involved as well and 469 punting 510 Mark Longhurst into the wreckage as well!!

Final - 710 Ben Wilkins, 558 Rob Haines, 144 Jamie Donnelly, 167, 414, 817, 510, NOF.

31 cars for the Final and it's another great race from the Bangers, various different leaders and 558 Rob Haines looked odds on for the win but he goes missing late on allowing 710 Ben Wilkins through for the heat and final double!

Caravan DD next and 8 cars + caravans take part, and as anticipated it's total carnage!!!! 529 Keith Conlon takes the win in the race and he's also the last one running, though 469 Paul Quinnell breaks free minus his caravan and joins in just to make sure nothing out there still looks remotely like a caravan!! The crowd laps it up and it's a fitting end to a classic day of racing and wrecking!!
