Greetings from a dry Aldershot Raceway where the pits are starting to fill up nicely. Today's meeting features Stock Rods in the latest round of the Polleysport/Yokohama Tyre Series, Bangers in the latest Inchcape Ford of Bracknell Track Championship, the Junior Rods are back in FGS Series action and the Junior Bangers make their return to the Claycart Road venue.

Stay up to date right here with Spedeworth Motorsports!

Junior Rods

Heat One
271 Lacey-May Joyce, 330, 207, 35, 5, 114, 56, 318, 77, 298.

A cracking start to today's racing with 77 Sam Owen leading the early laps before a three car train consisting of the 271, 330 & 5 made their way to the front with 271 at the front. This is where Lacey stayed to take victory with the 5 car bring docked two places for contact on 330.

Heat Two
5 Eric Walker, 318, 330, 35, 297, 12, 298, 442, 61, NOF.

Another good race from the youngsters. The yellow flag came out for an incident on the back straight and on the restart it was 330 Tyler Wilkin leading from 5 Eric Walker. These two drivers stayed in these positions until the chequered flag but the 330 driver was docked two places for not maintaining a consistent pace on the rolling lap.

Final
330 Tyler Wilkin, 318 Ryan Allgood, 5 Eric Walker, 207, 114, 35, 56, 297, 12, 271.

Another excellent race from the Junior Rods saw Tyler Wilkin take a deserved victory in the final. The race was stopped as the 61 and 298 cars came to grief on the pit bend. Wilkin made a great start from the blue grade to make up for losing out in heat two. A good days racing from the youngsters!

Junior Bangers

Heat One
84 Jack Ansell, 194, 614, 46, NOF.

Six Junior Bangers provided some good entertainment as some cars were spun as the action got underway. 160 Joe Reynolds was first across the line but fell foul of the Scrutineers when his tyres were checked which left Jack Ansell to inherit the win.

Heat Two
160 Joe Reynolds, 614, 46, 194, NOF.

Joe Reynolds makes up for losing out in heat one as he takes victory on heat two. The other four cars on track ended up in a heap on lap one as 160 made serene progress. After sorting themselves out, Jack Angell managed to roll his car over on to the infield. What the Junior Bangers lack in numbers, they are certainly are making up for in action!

Final
160 Joe Reynolds, 84 Jack Ansell, 194 Jack Anscombe, 46, 614, NOF.

Another entertaining race saw Joe Reynolds take the win while being spun across the line by the 84 car!

Bangers

Heat One
469 Paul Quinnell, 167, 891, 390, 831, 814, 144, 714, NOF.

Over thirty bangers took to the track for their first race and any may have thought that starting at the rear of the grid would prove to be a disadvantage but that was certainly not the case for 167 Jimmy Morris and 469 Paul Quinnell as they carved their way through the field as the other cars tripped over one another. Morris led before getting caught up with a backmarker which handed the lead to Quinnell. Morris tried everything he could but the contact he managed to make on the last bend was not enough!

Heat Two
104 Shane Bird, 390, 469, 167, 144, 479, NOF.

Another cracking race from the Bangers with cars spinning everywhere. Shane Bird takes the win as only 6 cars make it to the end!

Final
469 Paul Quinnell, 104 Shane Bird, 167 Jimmy Morris, 724, 144, 185, 814, 828, NOF.

Jimmy Morris is the first car across the line in the final but falls foul of the steward who penalised him for making contact with his track championship rival 469. In a double blow for Morris, it is Paul Quinnell who inherits the win to earn some extra track championship points!

Stock Rods

Heat One
337 Lee Fear, 745, 116, 187, 28, 144, 364, 251, 257, 110.

With 28 cars on track, the crowd at Aldershot Raceway were treated to a fine demonstration of non-contact racing as Lee Fear took a flag to flag victory as the other cars diced with each other for the remaining places. With no penalties issued and no damage to speak of it was one of the best Stock Rod races seen at Aldershot Raceway in quite some time.

Heat Two
337 Lee Fear, 116, 187, 364, 28, 745, 251, 91, 110, 144.

Lee Fear makes it a race-winning double as he takes victory in heat two which will see him start the final from the yellow grade. There was an incident when the 9 car broke down on the back straight which led to the 417 car facing backwards which brought about the race stoppage. Another fantastic race from the Stock Rods.

Final
116 Michael Madden, 257 Ashley Brown, 364 Nathan Olden, 251, 28, 110, 187, 128, 74, 168.

Another fine race from the Stock Rods saw East Anglia's Michael 'Rusty' Madden take a great victory in the final. With a third and second in the heats, it seemed fated that he would win! However, Rusty did come under pressure from the 257 machine towards the end of the 25 laps but held on to take a great win!

A fantastic days racing at Aldershot Raceway, stay with us on www.spedeworth.co.uk for updates from tonight's meeting at Yarmouth.
